Hello! My name is Ethan,
From a young age I had always enjoyed taking things apart to understand how the world worked, however putting thing back together correctly took some time to learn and get right. I graduated from Stony Brook University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, and developed a passion for understanding complex systems across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
My senior capstone project was leading a multidisciplinary engineering team to compete in the 2023 NASA Student Launch Initiative, specifically my team was responsible for development and deployment of the rocket deployed payload for the competition, drawing on a large breadth of topics including mechanical and electronic systems design and testing, RF communications, and programming of the robotic imaging payload.
After graduation I dug into my entrepreneurial spirit and utilized my newfound mechanical knowledge to start an online storefront selling products all designed, manufactured, and fulfilled from my family’s garage on sites like Etsy, eBay, and Amazon. Over the last two years I’ve grown the main Etsy storefront to 750+ sales and 150+ five star reviews; as well as continued to evolve new versions of my products to lower costs and cycle time to improve profit while maintaining or improving product quality for the customer.
I mostly find myself tinkering with personal projects and new technologies that interest me, you can find more about what I’ve been working on by checking out my Projects or my Blog to find recent writeups of my work. I enjoy working to solve problems around the house either in code or CAD, with recent interest in the growing field of AI and doing useful work with today’s models.
